I'm sorry for having an opinion. (2 part rant)

These days it seems that anyone who decides to have an opinion, and think for themselves.. or at least speak their mind, is hated on.

I’m VERY opinionated and outspoken.

I’ll say what is on my mind, I’ll tell people my opinions on things, regardless of whether or not that person wants to hear it.

The other day, someone made a statement that people in the military are heroes.

I disagreed, and that person started a HUGE argument due to the fact that I was ‘speaking ill’ of war “heroes”.

I don’t find ANYONE in the military to be a hero.

I will give them credit for risking their lives, in order to claim that they’re saving our country, however, that in no way makes them heroes.

People who goes overseas on peace missions are FAR more respectable than anyone who goes overseas to legally commit murder.

So this whole rant is about 2 things.

1. Military personnel being “heroes”

2. People being hated for having opinions.

Back to the topic about opinions.

Why is it that people get mad at other people who are willing to speak their mind, knowing full well that they may be hated greatly for it?

I have mad respect for those people, because I’m one of them.

What’s so wrong about looking at something, and being intelligent enough to form your own opinions?

What’s so wrong about telling people how you feel about something?

What’s so wrong about standing up for what you believe?

All of those questions can be answered with one word.

Nothing!

If you’re going to hate me for being opinionated, so be it.

If you’re going to ask me a question, and then bash my beliefs, don’t bother talking to me, because I can tell you now, I WILL share my beliefs, if you ask.
