Pyrotechnics

The laws might not be the same in other cities
dont get mad at me if they arent



I recently found out that stores cant sell pyrotechnics (fireworks) unless its a holiday (july 1st, new years, ect)
which doesnt make sense to me at all
I mean, people get drunk (and maybe high) on these holidays
which increases the risk of injury caused by the pyrotechnics
yet they wont sell them on days when people are totally sober and are just looking for some entertainment

that law wasnt in place last year when I was 17
but now that im 18, that law gets put in place
which annoys the hell out of me


but back to the point
why would the city council (or whoever makes these laws) allow people to only buy fireworks on days with increased chance of injury and or death?
I understand that the fireworks package has warnings
but honestly, who follows those warnings (not me)
I think they should re-enstate the laws about fireworks being sold year round
